Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Data we collect

For the purpose of running our business, humans have access to some data we collect. This data includes: your name, email, age, and gender (optional). The majority of the data collected is used by computers/programs (not people) that provide information to our company so we can provide a better service to our users.

If you use Lemonade brand quizzes, we may collect your responses for the purposes of developing new products. The results from these quizzes are never shared with other parties.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Data is also used for marketing purposes. We may use Google Ads, Meta Platform ads, Pinterest ads, or app store ads. These companies use the data from our existing users to market to similar users.

We use 3rd party companies for payment processing. These companies are Stripe and Paypal. We do not have access to your credit card information. All payments are handled by these companies. Use of this site allows you to share your information with other users, including coaches, what you choose to share with specific coaches, in comments, images, messages, posts, forums, or groups may not fall under our privacy policy.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

As explained above, we may use your data for marketing purposes. In legal terms this counts as ‘selling’ your data because we are giving your data to a 3rd party (Google Ads, Meta Platform Ads, Pinterest Ads) in order for us to get a benefit (remarketing/advertising).

This does not mean we are actually ‘selling’ your data. We will never use your data in a way that is not expressly for running our business. We strive to be honest and trustworthy at all times. In the event we discover a 3rd party we work with does not maintain our standards of privacy or security, we will find a new way of doing business.

How secure is your data?

We promise to do our best to protect your data. We use various security features in an effort to protect our site, our users, as well as our user’s data. However, we cannot promise that we will always be successful at preventing brute force theft of data. Our technological world changes frequently which means sometimes we cannot stay ahead of those who want to steal what we have.

We can promise, that if this ever happens, we will notify you as soon as we are aware, and we will immediately work to re-secure our site, our users, and our user’s data.
